The west side of Galena Pass along highway US20 in south central Idaho offers a sweeping vista of the Sawtooth Mountains on the far side of a long deep partly-forested valley, seen from a meadow of yellow-flowering vegetation (probably tumbleweeds). In this view a large white leafless tree dominates the left side while spectacular cloudbanks build above the valley. August 2008.
