Standing at the top of Pike's Peak, above 14000 feet altitude, you are well above the timberline and actually in the clouds gathering for a summer storm. When the nearby clouds clear momentarily, you see the tracks of the cog railroad which climbs the mountain as an alternate way to the top. During this sunbreak you can also see other cloud-shaded 14000 foot mountains in the distance and a nearer mountain lake brilliantly spotlighted by the sun.
